Neil Joseph Cacciottolo (class of ’65), James Chris Shukas (’66), and Donald Warren Bollman (’64) were all killed in combat in Vietnam. To honor and remember their memory, a memorial was built on school grounds and completed in late 2015. As part of the Ridgewood Archive project, we see a special opportunity to publish the full story as part of our community history. The 60s were an era of new spirit and learning in the local community, along with unrest and conflict abroad. The Archive project allows accessibility to our community history and the ability to relay it.

These poignant losses seem especially relevant, as students from Ridgewood  High School currently serve or recently served in armed conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
