Projects Completed by Next Generation
Students
Next Generation students work with
miscellaneous software packages and computer peripherals
to complete projects designed to give the students direct
experience with the latest technology. Here are some
sample projects finished by students with the guidance
of their mentors.

Students counted the numbers
of different M&M candy colors found in each packet
and then entered the numeric data into an Excel spreadsheet.
They then converted these numbers into different types
of charts and graphs. Students had a great time completing
this project and were able to "eat the data" afterward!
PowerPoint
Presentations
This Next Generation student is
showing off his PowerPoint presentation to Jesse White,
Secretary of State & State Librarian.
Digital
Photography
Students love using
digital cameras to capture their creativity. Students
take many imaginative pictures and then edit, email,
or print them.
Map Maker Toolkit
A student is showing Jesse White, Secretary of State
and State Librarian a map he created using the Mapmaker's
Toolkit software. This software allows students to
customize and publish maps from anywhere in the world
to create a unique and informational product.
