Note on verso: 'The day old Stinson plane owned by John E. Maynard of New Orleans, was swept by flames as it landed at the Commercial Airport today. Four persons were burned, two so seriously that they will probably die. The fire is believed to have started when the engine backfired.' The plane is shown at Commercial Airport, Springfield, Illinois. |
